Winter, I like you, I like your snow, but now it's time to go....
No photos today, just a thought... This year's winter here in the UK seems to have gone for far longer than it really should have and we're all desperately wanting it to go away and let Spring do it's magic. I'm pretty sure that by this time of year, buds are starting to show even a tiny bit on bushes and trees in gardens, but I haven't really seen as much growth as usual. Today in Nottingham, I got up to find that it had snowed AGAIN and I'd already decided to take a walk into town to go sit in one of my favourite tea rooms (which turned out to be shut, confusingly).
However, when I got outside and walked along side the River Trent towards the city, there was a definite and very welcome feeling of warmth from the small amount of sunlight, proper Spring sun. The air was fresh, not as sharp as it has been for weeks. There was a re-energised level of twittering by the birds too. Just a small and very lovely sign that Spring's on its way... It's just taking its time... And my thought was... How good it is to really appreciate the things you haven't seen or felt for months, even the relatively less obviously important or needed things... And how much revitalising energy I get from getting back near to nature :)
